 Periodontal Treatment

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease) is caused by bacteria that enters the gums, resulting in infected and swollen gum tissue. Symptoms of Gum Disease may include bleeding, tenderness, receding gums, loose teeth, bad taste and/or breath, and pockets between the teeth and gum.

If gum disease is detected, a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) may be indicated. Deep cleaning involves removing plaque and calculus from the surface of the teeth and from the pockets between the teeth and gums.

Keeping your gums healthy is an important part of your oral health. By maintaining regular dental hygiene appointments, we can help detect gum disease and prevent additional damage to your gums.
